54 Countries. One Continent and the African Diaspora, the 6th Region of the African Union.

All organizations and groups are encouraged to complete and submit the Participation Form prior to the event.

All participants should arrive by 11AM on Sunday, September 23rd, 2012.

Parade is expected to start at 12PM from 135th Street to 122nd Street along Malcolm X Boulevard (Lenox avenue) in Harlem, New York.

Immediately following the Parade will be an African Heritage Festival, from 4:00 to 7:00pm - with music, artists, performers, food, dancing, and much more.

The THEME of this year’s event is: “Together, we can cure HIV/AIDS.”

We hope that you will take time out of your busy schedule to join us and proudly march behind the banner of your group, organization, national colors, and flags. We encourage participants to wear beautiful traditional African outfits or accessories to highlight the spirit of the event. Bring musical instruments and have a grand time with us at the Festival. We are expecting participants from Africa, Europe, United States, Carribean, and other regions.

African Day Parade and Festival is proud to have been honored at the United States House of Representatives in 2007 by Congressman Charles Rangel, the New York City Council in 2008, and also recipient of a 2009 NYS Senate Proclamation from the State Senator Bill Perkins.
